I stayed in this hotel as part of a tour with Exoticca Travel We arrived late and left early but the hotel was ok, clean comfortable, modern room, good bed and bathroom. As part of a group we were served a buffet which was not bad and was replenished well .Minimal breakfast choice. Not possible to get coffee in the evening.I had very little interaction with the staff but no problems. 10/10 for arranging a TV in bar to watch the England game.
Fredj hotel and spa.Modern hotel in Medina ( Old city) of Tangier, renovated in a modern style. Wide rooms and good view on the city from the balcony.Very friendly staff. Lift is available.Prices are slightly higher than in other hotels in Medina.
I would give this place 2 stars were it not for. The staff, who are friendly, polite & helpful. The price it is cheap.. Good location4 stars this ain’t. 3 would be very generous.Balls of hair in the pool, non-smoking room stank of fags, room was a bit grubby, bathroom door v hard to open & close, dark corridors (i tripped over a coffee table i didn’t even see), played pop version of elton john medley in restaurant (on repeat).I won’t cheap out again. You get what you pay for.
The room iself was nicely laid out, well decorated, and had a balcony with a water view. All pluses. However, the hotel has seen better days. Crumbling walls and the bathroom door was inoperable - permanently wedged halfway open.Given the price, maybe not unexpected.
We arrived late evening for an overnight stay as part of our tour Our room was very nice and clean We was rushed up to the restaurant as they had nearly finished the evening meal so the buffet had been picked over but the food was really good and the staff were really attentive even though they had to wait for us to finishBreakfast was good too , We would have liked to stay longer
We were at the hotel for less than 24 hours as we arrived quite late in the evening and departed early the next day. That being said the hotel felt a bit weird. When we got to our floor the lights in halls were out. We initially thought they were proximity driven but no amount of motion turned them on. Some lights that did turn on were flickering making for an eerie atmosphere. The restaurant had amazing views but the food was only ok. The rooms were fine and we had a balcony overlooking the sea but the door didn't lock on the balcony which again was a bit weird. For a very short stay this was all fine but a longer stay would feel sub par. The hotel does have a pool which we didn't use but saw from our balcony in the morning.
Beautiful room facing the Staight of Gibraltar. I never have expected to be seeing such a wonderful site. Excellent room service. Clean and centrally located. 5 stars. Very easyto park and check in. The staff are very attentive to your needs.
We stayed in this hotel overnight during a tour of Morocco. The accomodations and the views were outstanding. From our balcony and the restaurant we had beautiful views of the city and the Mediterranean. Dinner was superb! I would recommend this hotel and go back to stay on my next trip to Morocco.
We want to publicly thank, Abdel Tangier Tour Guide, for making our trip to Morocco an incredible experience. It was amazing how much we packed into one day! Abdel’s extensive knowledge of the sites, the land and its history were phenomenal. We began our tour in his hometown of Asilah, Morocco. This beautiful city on the water has a rich history and a multi-cultural artistic ambiance. We started our tour visiting non-traditional tourist sites, such as, the back-street open markets, the baker with a communal oven that community members can go to have their bread baked, and the cooperative employment and vocational training program for widows and orphaned youth. We were in “awe” to see these skilled women weave stunning intricate large floor rugs without a pattern. We also toured the Portuguese fortress built in 1408. At each location we visited, Abdel provided in-depth history, the social impact and answered our questions. During our visit, he opened his home where his wife prepared a traditional Moroccan meal, which was marvelous, and we met his children. That evening, before returning to our hotel, we set on his roof top deck and watched a stunning sunset. Because of his great service, we ended the day by arranging a tour of Tangier for the following day.The next morning, Abdel picked us up from our hotel in Tangier, and we toured the community where King Mohammed VI of Morocco has his summer palace and where several international diplomats and their families have residents. We then explored the Caves of Hercules which features two openings, one to land and one to sea. The sea cave opening is known as the entryway to Africa from Europe and it has a distinctive shape that looks like a “Map of Africa”. We continued traveling up the coast where the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea meet. The views took our breadth away. We ended the day by exploring the markets and enjoying a traditional Moroccan lunch bursting with flavors. We learned so much from our private tours guided by Abdelkader El Maimouni. We had an amazing time and are so thankful we met him. If we were to rate our experience of Abdel’s services from 1 – 10, he would receive a 12! His private tours were beyond our expectations and we hope our paths cross again. We highly recommend Abdel’s services for anyone traveling to Morocco. You are in for a treat.
Photo: view from our roomSpacious room with comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Clean. Tasefully decorated. Quick check in. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent restaurant with live music. Everything top notch. Recommend highly.
Stayed here one night while on tour. Staff very accommodating. Hotel was clean. Our room was your average hotel room - clean and beds were comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were included and both were very good.
This international hotel was a perfect fit for us during our stay in Tangier. It was located near the Medina and all of the tourist sites. The rooms were fully individually adjustable air-conditioned. They opened to furnished balconies and an indoor sitting area. Bathrooms had a beautiful shower, bathrobes, slippers, and upscale toiletries. We took a couple meals in the restaurant and the food was outstanding. We recommend the Fredj
Dinner on the first floor overlooking the sea was breathtaking surrounded by roof top houses below.. The 3 course meal was delicious (buttered rice) while the romantic spanish music was playing in the background. The shopping area is close by with blend of modern and ancient wares. The breakfast is on the ground floor.
Travelling from Casablanca through Rabat, and then reaching Tanger. This hotel has A private parking space with a vallet. The hotel is tucked away a bit, but very pretty and has friendly service. The second day they forgot to renieuw our towels but After asking the roomstaff we got fresh new ones and found out they had big towels at the swimming pool. Breakfast is included and was A delicious buffet.
The room is very comfortable and clean. NON SMOKER hotel. Very very friendly staff. The hotel has also parking and a swimming pool. The outlook from the room towards the port of Tanger and the mediterranean/ocean is charmin. - The internet connection was in my room weak.-
We stayed only a single night having arrived by Ferry from Tarifa in the morning before travelling on next day. We were able to check-in and access our rooms on arrival just after 12.00, which enabled us to get out and explore the Medina promptly. Our stay was comfortable, the hotel was clean, the staff we met were very efficient.
I visit often as the hotel is secluded with fantastique views. Perfect for a morning or afternoon meetings and dinners. The Spa is recommended with various hamman and massage offers also. And most importantly, Every staff member has been professional and courteous on every visit and that speaks volumes for a hotel.
This 4 star hotel is perfectly well located if you wish to visit the old and new parts of Tangier, as it is in the middle of both. Turn right and you are a 3 minute walking distance to the Place 9 de Avril which is the door to the Soccos and Medina and Kasbah. Turn left and you're one minute away on one of the main avenues of Tangier; Pasteur and Mohammed V. So for tourism, the location is unbeatable. Regarding the staff, all outstanding. From the Manager Mr. Otman to the reception desk, restaurant and cleaning staff, the smile and attention is welcoming and professional. Bedrooms are practical and of a good size. I booked a superior sea facing room and 3 adults could comfortably sleep there with a beautiful view to the sea off Tangier. If you are 2, then a Standard is fine. Mattresses are large and very comfortable while there are a couple of pillows on each side of the bed of different density. The bathrooms are very well thought of with one smaller one with a bidet, toilet and sink, while the other one has a bathtub and large sink. The fixed glass on the bathtub is too small for the bathtub, and that wets the floors of bathroom.Breakfast has enough variety in hot, cold, snacks, breads, cereals, pastries, fresh and dried fruits, coffees, teas and fresh juices made from fruits and vegetables at your disposal. Wifi is good all around the hotel and bedrooms. Parking is available for free at the premises. On the negative side, the air conditioning is centralised and therefore you cannot adjust it to your requirement. Some rooms face the afternoon sun and the air con doesn't do the job enough. Also, the hotel telephones don't work so there is no way you can contact the front desk or any other department. Furthermore our hotel room had some ants in it. I informed maintenance and they solved the issue. So some issues need to be fixed for a truly 4 star category and experience.
We found this hotel to be a comfortable place, sadly with some major flaws.Let’s start with the positive aspects: The hotel provided free parking in a secured underground garage. The reception staff at check-in was friendly and professional (while the next day upon check-out the same person appeared considerably less friendly and interested). The bellboy was friendly and helpful, too. Our room was large, very modern, with a safe and lots of storage space. The bed was large as well, with a comfortable (hard) mattress. Even though the doors could only be closed with a loud slam we had a good night’s sleep without any interruption from others (maybe due to a low occupancy rate). The bathroom itself was fine, but the way in which the shower was constructed did not allow any showering without flooding half of the room. One of the major assets of the property is the prime location, in easy walking distance to both the old and new town, with a beautiful view over the city (which you have to pay for, our room was looking out on a courtyard with a parking lot).So what were the problems? There were some issues in terms of hygiene - dirty towels and dirty pillows. The pillows were too thick/high as well (and unfortunately only this one size was provided), so we ended up sleeping on (our own) folded towels. Though bearing a sophisticated panel, the air conditioning only had one setting (no, we were not incapable of handling it, the bellboy came up a second time to confirm it) which was not sufficient on a hot day in June. Moreover, the Wifi signal in the room was pretty much nonexistent. The breakfast was totally inadequate for a four star hotel, with hardly any choice (for example no eggs made to order, no yoghurt). It was served in a difficult to find, hot and extremely unpleasant room with the atmosphere of a waiting hall at a train station somewhere in the so-called third world. Unfortunately, the sanitary conditions were even worse than that, with flies all over the food and the dirtiest plates, cutlery and place mats I have ever seen. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for its location and large rooms, but strongly advise you to take the negative aspects into consideration when making a booking choice. Especially the sanitary issues and the hugely disappointing breakfast are intolerable points which would make us choose a different hotel when coming back to Tangier.
We stayed here for a night for my birthday. The lady on the check in desk was really nice even when we had some problems with card payment. The room was massive, had a great view of the sea and a terrace we could sit on. We originally booked to eat somewhere else but after having lunch by the pool we decided to try the restaurant for dinner. It was lovely and a really reasonable price! During the day time we had some cocktails by the pool too (which you can get from the bar after 3pm). They were also delicious and really reasonably priced! Everything was perfect. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of hot food, fruits, breads, pastries, cheeses etc! They also had a juicer where you could make your own juice from a selection of fruits/vegetables. The staff were so helpful. We checked out around 12 and we didn't need to catch our train until later in the afternoon so they looked after our bags for us and let us relax by the pool.I cannot rate this hotel enough, it was so lovely. As well as the hotel/pool they also have a daytime bar/restaurant, a terrace restaurant, a spa and a 'cigar bar'. Also a really good place for families too.
Best choice for a short or à long stay in Tangier. really i recomend this boutique hotel, with à stunning view of the Detroit of Gibraltar, medina .... also the ubication is top. the rooms are cosy well furnished and the give you à free comlimentary smartphone Handy so you can call and navigate on Internet go free. So what else... and the breakfast is à must
The hotel isn't big. Car parking spots available. Nice view over the harbor. Staff were helpful. Food was good. You can go for a walk in the town without need for transportation. Overall, its a nice hotel if you're not planning to stay indoors that much!
